Zulum, Ndume Deliver Electrification to Gwoza, Fulfil Long-Standing Promise

The people of Gwoza in Borno State have begun to benefit from a long-awaited electrification project jointly delivered by Gov. Babagana Zulum and Sen. Mohammed Ali Ndume, representing Borno South.

The project, described as a milestone in the state’s development agenda, is part of the Borno State Development Plan aimed at improving infrastructure, education, healthcare and economic growth across communities.

According to community leaders, the electrification will not only light up households but also strengthen key institutions such as the Federal College of Education (FCE) Gwoza, the College of Nursing, and Higher Islamic Schools.

They said access to reliable power supply would enhance academic learning, research, and skill development while boosting local commerce and healthcare delivery.

Sen. Ndume, who has been at the forefront of advocacy for the project, said the electrification was the fulfilment of a long-standing promise to his constituents.

“This is about improving the lives of our people. Electricity brings opportunities for education, business, healthcare and security. I am proud that with the support of Gov. Zulum, this dream has become a reality,” Ndume said.

Gov. Zulum, in his remarks, reiterated that the project aligned with his administration’s vision to stimulate industrial growth and provide essential services in rural areas.

“Electrification is not just about lighting homes, it is about powering opportunities and securing the future of our youth,” Zulum said.

Residents of Gwoza expressed gratitude to both leaders, noting that the delivery of the project had brought renewed hope and economic revival to the town.
