Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, has expressed deep appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for signing into law the bill establishing the Federal University of Agriculture and Entrepreneurship in Bama.

Governor Zulum described the development as a major step toward revitalizing education, agriculture, and youth empowerment in Borno State, particularly in the insurgency-affected areas of Bama Local Government.

“This is a historic and transformative decision for our people. I am profoundly grateful to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his vision and unwavering support for education and economic recovery in the North East,” Governor Zulum said in a statement released on Tuesday.

He further commended members of the National Assembly for their support in making the university a reality, with special acknowledgment to Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan, SAN, who represents Borno Central Senatorial District, for sponsoring the bill.

“Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan’s commitment to the progress of his constituents is commendable. His efforts in championing this critical institution reflect a strong dedication to the educational and socio-economic development of Borno Central,” the governor stated.

The Federal University of Agriculture and Entrepreneurship, to be sited in Bama, is expected to contribute significantly to the rebuilding process of the region by providing access to quality education, fostering innovation, and promoting self-reliance through agriculture and enterprise development.

Governor Zulum urged the Federal Government to expedite the implementation process so that academic activities can commence as soon as possible. He also called on the people of Bama and the wider Borno community to support the initiative and take full advantage of the opportunities it presents.
