
Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, on Monday visited scholarship students studying in India, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to their welfare and academic progress.
The Governor, who is on an official trip to India, first met with beneficiaries of the Borno State scholarship scheme at Sharda University in Noida. During the interaction, he encouraged the students to remain focused and committed to their studies, noting that their skills and knowledge are vital to the rebuilding and future development of the state.
Zulum presented N500,000 cash support to each student, a gesture that was received with excitement and relief. The Governor later visited Borno students at Integral University in Lucknow, where he also provided the same financial assistance.
He further directed that the support be extended to all Borno State scholarship beneficiaries studying in Malaysia to ensure fairness and equal treatment.
Some of the students expressed gratitude for the Governor’s visit, describing him as a leader who listens and shows genuine concern for their well-being.
Zulum was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Government House, Barr. Mustapha Busuguma, and the Executive Secretary of BOGIS, Engr. Adam Bukar Bababe.
