2 Detain In Taraba For Alleged Involvement In Illegal Mining And Deforestation

In a relentless pursuit of environmental protection, the special taskforce committee members have escalated their efforts to enforce the executive order issued by Governor Agbu Kefas, aimed at curbing deforestation and mining activities across the state.

Two individuals have been apprehended in Jambutu, Garin Magaji Ward, Lau Local Government Area, for violating executive orders three and five.

Their activities have contravein executive order number three and five of Governor Agbu Kefas following the establishment of the special taskforce on environmental protection public safety and prohibition of deforestation.

Responding to news men in Jalingo, the Chairman Special Taskforce Committee retired General Jeremiah Aliyu Faransa said a lot need to be done in the state to curb deforestation.

The retired General added that those in the business have resulted in different form of deforestation across the state felling trees unnecessarily.

He said he is ever prepared to ransack every nook and crannies of the state to apprehend defaulters of the executive order.
