The Bank of Industry (BOI) has commenced the batch disbursement of the Tertiary Institution Staff Support Fund (TISSF) loans, with some applicants yet to receive payment due to issues related to Bank Verification Numbers (BVN), National Identification Numbers (NIN), and incorrect bank account details.
This was contained in an internal memorandum issued by the Bursar of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) on Tuesday, Mrs. Obidu Mizita Queen, and addressed to all staff of the institution.
According to the memo, the university has concluded the vetting of 1,530 applicants and forwarded their details to the BOI for further processing. However, 89 applications were delayed because of BVN and NIN inconsistencies, as well as wrong account information.
The bursar explained that all verification processes, including NIN and BVN checks, are being handled automatically by the BOI system, while the selection of successful applicants and the subsequent disbursement are being done in batches.
“Disbursement of the loan is in batches, and the selection of successful applicants for each batch is currently the responsibility of BOI,” the memo stated.
Mrs. Queen urged applicants who have not yet received their loan offer letters to remain patient while the university awaits further directives from the BOI.
She assured staff that the institution had fulfilled its vetting obligations and would continue to liaise with the BOI to resolve issues affecting affected applicants to ensure wider coverage in subsequent disbursements.
