Taraba Govt Creates, Renames Key Ministries to Strengthen Service Delivery

The Taraba State Government has announced the creation and redesignation of key ministries as part of ongoing administrative reforms under Governor Agbu Kefas aimed at improving governance and service delivery.

A statement issued on Saturday said Governor Kefas approved the restructuring to align government operations with emerging development priorities and strengthen institutional effectiveness.

Under the new arrangement, the Ministry of Cooperation and Poverty Alleviation has been replaced with the Ministry of Social Development and Human Services, while three additional ministries have been created.

These newly established ministries are the Ministry of Nursery and Basic Education, and the Ministry of Secondary, Vocational and Skill Education, both designed to focus on foundational learning and youth skill development.

The government also redesignated the Ministry of Social Justice and Re-integration, now to be known simply as the Ministry of Social Justice, to streamline its responsibilities.

According to the statement, the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the State (OSSG) will release detailed mandates, roles, and operational structures for each of the new and restructured ministries in the coming days.

The reforms, the government noted, are part of Governor Kefas’ commitment to modernizing the state’s governance framework and expanding access to essential social and educational services.
