Bauchi Gov Seeks Stronger EU Devt Ties

The Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, has met with 19 Ambassadors of the European Union (EU) on Tuesday to strengthen development partnerships between the state and the EU.

The meeting focused on deepening collaboration in key sectors, including agriculture, education, healthcare, climate resilience, infrastructure and economic development.

Mohammed said the engagement underscored the importance of subnational partnerships in advancing inclusive growth and sustainable development.

Speaking on behalf of the ambassadors, the European Union Ambassador to Nigeria, Gautier Mignot, commended the governor’s leadership and reaffirmed the EU’s commitment to fostering mutually beneficial relationships with Bauchi State.

He said the EU was ready to support programmes that promote good governance, environmental sustainability and economic empowerment.

The governor expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a milestone in the state’s drive to attract international collaboration and investment.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability and creating an enabling environment for development partners.

The meeting also featured the presentation of an Award of Recognition and Commendation to the governor in recognition of his administration’s reforms and sustainable development initiatives.
