Canada has opened applications for its 2026 international student scholarship programmes aimed at strengthening academic partnerships and attracting foreign students.
According to information from the Government of Canada’s education portal, Canadian postsecondary institutions have been invited to apply for funding under the Study in Canada Scholarships programme for the 2026–2027 academic year.

The programme, funded by Global Affairs Canada, supports international students seeking short-term study or research opportunities in Canadian institutions.
Officials said the scholarships are designed to strengthen Canada’s global academic partnerships and diversify the number of students studying in the country.
Under the initiative, selected international students will receive financial support covering airfare, health insurance, visa-related costs and selected living expenses during their stay in Canada.
Institutions were given until March 31, 2026, to submit scholarship applications on behalf of eligible students seeking placement in Canadian universities and colleges.
Education stakeholders say the continued expansion of scholarship opportunities reflects Canada’s effort to remain competitive in attracting international students amid growing global demand for overseas education.
