
The Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission has established a Monitoring and Evaluation Committee to assess the performance and activities of the commission during the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage.
The Acting Executive Chairman of the commission, Abubakar Salihu, announced the development as part of measures to ensure a smooth, well-organised and efficient pilgrimage for intending pilgrims from the state.
Salihu said the committee was constituted in line with the commission’s commitment to excellence and improved service delivery during the forthcoming pilgrimage.
According to him, Umar Garba Pella was appointed to head the committee, bringing his experience and expertise to oversee the monitoring process.
Other members of the committee include Musa Usman, Ibrahim Barkindo, Aliyu Mustafa Adamu Bawuro, Jamila Bello Ahmed, Sa’adutu Ahmed Usman and Zainab Sulaiman Bebel.
The chairman noted that the committee would monitor and evaluate all aspects of the pilgrimage operations to ensure compliance with required standards and improve the overall experience of pilgrims.
He added that the initiative underscores the commission’s commitment to transparency, accountability and effective service delivery as preparations for the 2026 Hajj continue.
