PAWECA Deploys Skills Graduates for 3-Month Apprenticeship to Boost Self-Reliance

The Adamawa State Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA) has commenced the deployment of graduating trainees from its Technical Skills Acquisition Centre under a three-month Local Apprenticeship Scheme aimed at strengthening practical competence and promoting self-reliance.
The initiative is designed to bridge the gap between classroom training and industry practice by attaching graduates to experienced artisans and professionals in their respective fields.
According to a statement by the agency’s Media and Information Unit, each graduate has been issued a letter of identification and attachment introducing them to host trainers.
The letter confirms that the beneficiaries have successfully completed their training at the centre, demonstrating satisfactory competence, discipline, and commitment throughout the programme.
PAWECA explained that the apprenticeship phase is intended to deepen industry exposure, improve hands-on skills, and enhance the trainees’ readiness for entrepreneurship and formal employment.
It further noted that host trainers are expected to provide supervision, mentorship and necessary support to ensure successful completion of the attachment period.
The agency expressed confidence that the trainees would uphold the values and standards of the Technical Skills Acquisition Centre during their placement.
It added that the scheme aligns with its broader mandate of promoting practical skills development, poverty reduction and job creation across Adamawa State.
