Ex-Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar Picks APC Bauchi Governorship Form for 2027 Race

Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, has formally obtained the governorship nomination form of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to contest the 2027 governorship election in Bauchi State.
This is contained in a report published by TheCable on Tuesday.
A video circulating on social media shows a formal ceremony at the APC national secretariat where Tuggar collected the nomination form amid a large gathering of party officials and supporters.
The event reportedly featured party leaders seated at a table processing documents while supporters filmed and cheered the former minister.
Tuggar, a former ambassador of Nigeria to Germany and immediate past Minister of Foreign Affairs, recently resigned from President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet to pursue the governorship ambition.
He is said to have pledged to abide by the outcome of a credible APC primary election and called for inclusive governance, quality leadership, and protection of minority rights in Bauchi State.
Political observers say Tuggar’s entry into the race is expected to heighten competition within the APC ahead of its governorship primaries in the state.
The APC has yet to announce the official timetable for screening and primaries for the 2027 elections.
