
Governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the ongoing reconstruction of the collapsed Namnai Bridge in Gassol Local Government Area of the state.
Kefas gave the commendation on Friday during an inspection visit to the project site, where he acknowledged the Federal Government’s commitment to the timely completion of the bridge.
The governor said he would continue to monitor the project regularly, describing it as a joint commitment between the Taraba State Government and the Federal Government to ensure delivery according to schedule.
Speaking during the visit, the Minister of State for Regional Development, Uba Ahmadu Maigari, disclosed that the Federal Government, through the North East Development Commission, had awarded six bridge projects across Taraba State.
Maigari added that work was ongoing on the projects and reaffirmed the Federal Government’s determination to collaborate with the Taraba State Government to ensure their successful and timely completion.
The project engineer briefed the governor on the stages of work already completed on the Namnai Bridge reconstruction project.
According to the engineer, the bridge project is expected to be completed within one year, while the alternative access road would be ready within 10 days.
The governor was accompanied on the inspection visit by the Commissioner for Information and Re-orientation, Zainab Jalingo, and the Secretary to the State Government, G. T. Kataps.
