The Federal Government has reopened the application portal for the second batch of the Tertiary Institutions Staff Support Fund (TISSF) Loan, giving eligible academic and non-academic staff of tertiary institutions another opportunity to access interest-free loans and welfare support.
The initiative, backed by the Federal Ministry of Education and TETFund, is designed to improve the welfare, career development and financial independence of staff in universities, polytechnics and colleges of education across the country.
According to information on the TISSF portal, applicants can access interest-free loans of up to ₦10 million, repayable over a maximum period of five years.
The fund is aimed at reducing financial pressure on tertiary institution workers while supporting professional development and improving staff retention in the education sector.
Eligible applicants are required to upload an employment letter, a valid institutional identity card, proof of membership of their staff association and a six-month bank statement during registration. Applicants will also be required to take a live facial photograph and grant location access while completing the online application.
The Federal Government said the fund could be used for medical emergencies, family and accommodation support, transport needs, small and medium-scale enterprises, academic advancement, and home ownership or renovation.
The programme described itself as a transformative intervention intended to empower tertiary institution staff to become agents of change within their institutions and communities by addressing long-standing welfare and financial challenges.
Interested and eligible staff can submit their applications through the official TISSF portal at https://tissf.education.gov.ng/.
The reopening of the portal is expected to enable more eligible workers who missed the initial application window to benefit from the Federal Government’s education sector welfare initiative.
