Operatives from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have apprehended a 34-year-old individual named Hassan Mohammed in the Moranti area of Borno State with a staggering 44,950 pills of tramadol.
Femi Babafemi, the Director of Media & Advocacy at NDLEA, revealed this development on Sunday through a statement. The arrest of Hassan Mohammed is just one of many successful operations conducted by the anti-narcotic agency nationwide during the past week.
The statement highlighted that a significant seizure of over 3.1 million pills of opioids, tramadol, and various illicit drugs was made during raids carried out in Kano, Lagos, and Borno by NDLEA operatives.
Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), commended the exceptional efforts of the officers and personnel from various NDLEA Commands including NAIA, Abia, Ogun, Kogi, Lagos, Seme, Borno, and Kano. He also praised the Special Unit for their remarkable achievements and emphasized the importance of intensifying WADA advocacy lectures across all commands in the country.
