Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has approved the disbursement of a one-month palliative bonus amounting to N10,000 for Civil Servants and N5,000 for Pensioners in the state.
This generous move supplements the previously approved six-month wage award which kicked off last month.
According to a statement by Alhassan Sule Mamudo, Chief Information Officer, on behalf of the Acting Head of Service Hamidu M Alhaji, a total sum of N695,900,000 has been allocated.
This sum includes N320,000,000 for State Civil Servants and Pensioners and N375,900,000 for Local Government Staff and Pensioners.
The aim of this initiative is to alleviate the impact of prevailing hardships and offer support during the upcoming Eid-El Fitr Sallah celebration.
While the payment for the March 2024 wage award will not coincide with the March salary, both the March 2024 wage award and the one-month bonus are scheduled for disbursement in the first week of April 2024. This timeline ensures that Civil Servants and Pensioners can enjoy the Eid-El Fitr festivities.
Governor Buni expects Civil Servants to reciprocate this kind gesture by demonstrating dedication to their roles and by continuously praying for the success of his administration.
