Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, on Tuesday affirmed his administration’s commitment to embracing all agricultural initiatives and programs aimed at promoting economic growth and ensuring food security.
This declaration came as he received Mrs. Elizabeth Egbetokun, the Wife of the Inspector General of the Nigeria Police Force, at Bauchi Government House, where she launched the Women in Agriculture program of the Police Wives Association (POWA).
Governor Mohammed expressed appreciation for Mrs. Elizabeth Egbetokun’s philanthropic efforts and attributed the innovative and creative initiatives of IGP Egbetokun to his wife’s selflessness.
He highlighted the significance of the Women in Agriculture program in alleviating poverty and hunger, acknowledging its potential to make a substantial impact.
In her remarks, Mrs. Elizabeth Egbetokun commended Governor Mohammed for his remarkable performance in education, health, and agriculture.
She emphasized that POWA sponsors and promotes ideas, initiatives, and programs geared towards fostering social development in society.
Mrs. Egbetokun also revealed that the Women in Agriculture program aims to sponsor and train one woman from each of the twenty Local Government Areas of Bauchi State in the United States of America. She called for continued support to ensure the success of the program.
