Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, a renowned Islamic scholar and leader, has called on all parties involved in the ongoing dispute over the emirship of Kano to respect the recent ruling of the Federal High Court. The court ordered the preservation of the existing state of affairs pending the substantive case.
Speaking at a press conference in Bauchi on Sunday, Sheikh Ibrahim Dahiru Bauchi, representing the Dahiru Bauchi Islamic Foundation, urged Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to adhere to the court’s decision. He emphasized that respecting the rule of law is crucial for maintaining peace and order in the state.
Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi stressed that no one can rule or lead without adhering to the rule of law, and encouraged all parties to seek an amicable settlement. He said, “In the interest of peace, we want justice to prevail.
Since the court has intervened to maintain law and order, we expect each party to respect the rule of law in the interest of peace.”
The dispute over the emirship of Kano has been ongoing between Aminu Ado Bayero and Muhammadu Sanusi II. The Federal High Court’s ruling aims to maintain the status quo until a final decision is reached.
