The announcement which was contained in a statement made available to journalists in Jalingo, the state capital on Thursday, said the committee is to be chaired by the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice Barrister of the state, Yakubu Maikasuwa.
The committee, comprising key figures in the state, including Naomi Tanko Agbu Commissioner of Energy & Economic Development), and Julius Peter, Commissioner of Rural & Urban Development, is tasked with the responsibility of evaluating TAWASCO’s capacity to provide water in Jalingo and its surrounding areas.
Others are Dr Sarah Enoch Adi, Commissioner of Finance and Economic Planning, Mr Daniel Ishaku, Commissioner of Water Management and Aquatic), and Mrs Patricia R Dann, Permanent Secretary, Career Management as the committee’s secretary.
The Terms of Reference for the committee, include analyzing the revenue inflow of the agency, assessing its self-sustainability, and providing recommendations on full or partial commercialization.
