Adamawa Police Recover 3-Year-Old Boy Sold by Mother for N410,000

The Adamawa State Police Command has rescued a 3-year-old boy, Friday Okonkwo, who was stolen and sold for N410,000 by his biological mother, Blessing Okonkwo, 24.

According to Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, investigations led to the recovery of the boy from Efunaya Nabufe, 35, in Mubi North LGA, who had taken him to her sister in Enugu State.

Initial reports suggested Blessing was the boy’s sister, but investigations revealed she was the mother, impregnated by one Aboi from Onitsha in 2019. The boy’s grandmother, Hauwa Lawan, had initially claimed to be the mother.

The police have successfully recovered the child and reunited him with his family.
