Army Debunks Viral Video On Soldiers’ Feeding In Kanama, Yobe State

The Nigerian Army has dismissed a viral video circulating on social media alleging that soldiers of 159 Battalion in Kanama, Yobe State, are being poorly fed.

An investigation led by the Commander Sector 2 Operation HADIN KAI found that the video was recorded by a police officer with an ulterior motive, and not by soldiers.

Contrary to the claim, no personnel in the location were served substandard meals. The Army leadership prioritizes the welfare and well-being of troops and their families, with several initiatives in place to ensure their well-being.

These initiatives include increased Ration Cash Allowance, prompt medical evacuation, payment of Group Life Insurance Scheme, Affordable House Ownership Option, and Personnel Insurance Scheme payments.

The Army appreciates the public’s concern for the welfare of troops and values their cooperation in maintaining peace and security. The investigation is ongoing to uncover the motive behind the misleading video.
