Senator representing Borno central, Barrister Kaka Shehu Lawan has successfully trained and empowered 425 constituents in skills acquisition programme, aimed at improving their economic well-being.
The three-day programme, held at the Barwee Suite in Maiduguri, focused on irrigation farming, fishing, and soap making. Participants received certificates, start-up capital, and equipment to kick-start their businesses.
Hon Ali Umar Bolori, representing Senator Lawan, commended the initiative, stating it aligns with Governor Babagana Umara Zulum’s efforts to mitigate economic hardships in the state.
APC officials, including Hon Makinta Zarami and Barrister Babashebu Zanna, praised Senator Lawan’s leadership and contributions to the state, including supporting law activities and facilitating the conversion of Civilian JTF members to the Nigerian Army and Police.
Participants expressed gratitude to Senator Lawan, assuring him of their support and praying for his protection and success.
The event featured musical performances and a poem recitation by Khadija Umar Sadiq, who earned a scholarship and cash gift for her composition.
