Hon. Justice Haruna Mshelia, a Borno State High Court Judge, has been released by his abductors. However, his wife, Magistrate Binta Mshelia, driver, and police orderly remain in captivity.
“Alhamdulillah (We give thanks to God), we have just received the news of the release (from BH captivity) of Justice Haruna Mshelia. May Allah Almighty protect us all from any form of mishap,” a reliable source in Maiduguri confirmed.
The source expressed gratitude to God for the judge’s freedom, but concerns remain for the safety of his wife, driver, and police orderly still held captive.
Justice Mshelia was abducted on June 24, along with his wife, driver, and police security guard, while traveling from Biu to Maiduguri. They were ambushed by a heavily armed group between Borno and Yobe states.
