The Gombe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (GoHealth) has trained 534 participants in data collection, validation, and enrollment across all 114 political wards in the state. This initiative is part of efforts to enroll over 50,000 new beneficiaries and revalidate more than 120,000 poor and vulnerable persons in its digital social registry.
The sensitization workshop, conducted simultaneously in all 11 local government areas, equipped participants with vital skills in the use of GoHealth’s digital databank, data processing, ICT operations, social registry verification, and data cleaning.
Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, the Agency’s Community Engagement Officer, Umar Wanda, emphasized the Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya commitment to achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and ensuring equitable healthcare access for all residents.
“This is the 4th cohort of enrollment, targeting the aged, children under five, pregnant women, people with special needs, persons living with HIV/AIDS, sickle cell patients, orphans, and widows. It is a testament to the Governor’s vision of making healthcare accessible to those who need it most,” Wanda stated.
The program builds on GoHealth’s previous successes. In the first cohort in 2021, the agency enrolled 25,565 beneficiaries. This was followed by 40,000 beneficiaries each in 2022 and 2023, and over 50,000 in 2024.
The next phase of enrollment will take place from December 3 to December 13, 2024, at all 114 GoHealth-accredited Primary Health Centres (PHCs) across the state’s political wards.
