Tinubu Sympathises With Military Over Damboa Attack

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his condolences to the Nigerian Army following the loss of six soldiers in a terrorist attack on a military base in Sabon Gida, Damboa, Borno State, on January 4.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described the incident as a tragic loss and sympathized with the families of the fallen soldiers.

“Their sacrifices in defending our nation will forever be honoured and remembered,” Tinubu said.

The President commended the swift response of the armed forces, particularly the air component, which launched retaliatory strikes that neutralized several terrorists and destroyed their assets.

“This resolute action demonstrates the capability and readiness of our military to confront threats to national security,” he stated.

Tinubu urged the military to intensify efforts in taking the fight to the camps of terrorists and bandits, especially in the Northwest, where innocent villagers remain under threat.

The President also appealed to Nigerians and the media to support the military in its efforts to restore peace and security across the country.
