Buni Administration Delivers Healthcare at Doorstep in Yobe

The administration of Gov. Mai Mala Buni has continued to make strides in delivering accessible healthcare services to residents across Yobe State through the revitalisation of Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs).

Our correspondent who visited the Mairi and Gwange PHCs in Damaturu, as well as the Bolewa ‘A’ and Dogon Zare PHCs in Potiskum, reports that healthcare workers were actively providing essential medical services to mothers and children.

Residents expressed satisfaction over the ease of accessing healthcare without having to travel long distances to secondary or tertiary institutions. According to them, the presence of functional PHCs has brought much-needed relief, especially in the treatment of minor ailments and maternal care.

“This development has helped to reduce the pressure on our secondary and tertiary health institutions, allowing them to focus more on complicated medical cases,” a healthcare worker in Damaturu said.

Over the past few years, the state government under Buni’s leadership has prioritized healthcare delivery, leading to recognitions and awards from global institutions, including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Dangote Foundation.

The Director-General, Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, Alhaji Mamman Mohammed, said the administration remains committed to bringing healthcare closer to the people as part of its broader development agenda.
