The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced the commencement of its Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) recruitment exercise for the 2024/2025 session.
A statement on the NAF recruitment portal on Tuesday said the exercise will run from Aug. 27 to Oct. 7, 2025.
It said the service is enlisting qualified graduates and post-graduates for training as DSSC officers, with applications to be submitted online free of charge via https://nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng.
According to the statement, applicants are expected to carefully read the specific disciplines required before filling out the form. Upon completion, candidates must print out acknowledgment, parent/guardian consent, and local government area attestation forms.
The local government attestation form must be signed by a senior officer from the military, police, local government authority, or a magistrate, and must be accompanied by a passport photograph and valid identification of the signatory.
The NAF said only valid applications will generate the required forms.
On eligibility, applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth, aged between 20 and 32 years, except for medical consultants who may apply between the ages of 25 and 40. Serving personnel seeking branch commission are not eligible.
Other requirements include being medically and physically fit, free of criminal convictions, and meeting the NAF’s medical and enlistment standards. Male applicants must be at least 1.66m tall while female applicants must be at least 1.63m tall.
Applicants are also required to possess a minimum of Second Class Upper Division (2.1) or Upper Credit for HND holders, while possession of an MSc/MA and computer literacy will be added advantage.
The statement added that priority would be given to applicants with relevant academic and professional qualifications, and at least two years of post-qualification experience. All candidates must present their NYSC discharge certificate or exemption letter.
For medical-related disciplines, registration with the relevant professional bodies in Nigeria is compulsory.
The Air Force urged interested Nigerians to seize the opportunity, noting that the exercise is free and only conducted through its official recruitment portal.
It also advised applicants to disregard fraudulent messages or unauthorized platforms.
