Twenty-six Yobe indigenes have been inducted as pharmacists under the Recovery Through Education and Scholarships (RETES) policy initiated by Gov. Mai Mala Buni.
The inductees, who are beneficiaries of the governor’s foreign scholarship programme, joined 107 colleagues from across the country at the headquarters of the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN), Abuja, on Wednesday.
The Executive Secretary of the Yobe State Scholarship Board, Dr. Kagu Abubakar, said the feat was a product of Buni’s vision to build a knowledge-based Yobe through investment in human capital development.
He commended the new pharmacists for their resilience and urged them to be good ambassadors of the state in their professional careers.
“With this success, the Buni administration continues to open doors of global opportunities for Yobe youths, laying a strong foundation for a brighter and more prosperous future,” Abubakar said.
The RETES policy was introduced by Buni to empower indigenes with opportunities for advanced studies both within and outside Nigeria.
