Gombe Governor Approves 200% Increase in Scholarship Allowances

The Gombe State Scholarship Board has announced an increase of over 200 per cent in scholarship allowances for students, following the approval of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Director of the Scholarship Board, Mr. Adamu Madaki Kanawa, and made available to newsmen on Sunday in Gombe.

According to the statement, the official symbolic presentation of cheques to beneficiaries will take place on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Gombe.

The Board described the governor’s approval as a demonstration of his administration’s commitment to improving students’ welfare and promoting access to quality education across the state.

“The Scholarship Board wishes to inform the general public, especially students, that following the recent approval by His Excellency, the Governor, for an increase of over two hundred percent in scholarship allowances, students are hereby notified that the official symbolic presentation of cheques will take place as scheduled,” the statement read.

The Board commended Governor Yahaya for prioritising education and reaffirmed its readiness to ensure a transparent and efficient disbursement process.
