The Adamawa State Executive Council, presided over by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has approved ₦17.1 billion for the construction of three mega senior science secondary schools in Lamurde, Gulak, and Hong LGAs.
Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon. Jamesmawuri Iliya, disclosed this on Wednesday at a press briefing after the council meeting.
The council also approved other projects, including the expansion of Galadima Aminu Way and construction of an underpass at Fire Service Roundabout in Yola at ₦13.8 billion, and the construction of a 7.5km road with bridges from Mararraba Garta to Kamale in Michika LGA at ₦4.3 billion.
Other approved projects include a 14km Sukur road in Madagali LGA at ₦2.5 billion, electricity supply for ₦854 million, and portable water supply for ₦832 million for 5,000 residents of Fintiri 1000 housing units in Yola South LGA.
Additionally, ₦630 million was approved as a counterpart fund for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to access ₦1.2 billion for critical projects.
