In a recent press release dated March 28, 2024, the Adamawa State Police Command reaffirmed the ongoing ban on motorcycle usage in specific regions of Girei, Yola North, and Yola South Local Government Areas.
The ban, initially declared by the state government, applies to Viniklang, Federal Housing Estate, Ngurore, Mbaba, Wauru Jabbe, and Yolde Pate communities.
The Command has noted instances of non-compliance with these restrictions, with individuals attempting to circumvent the ban by disguising motorcycles as bicycles within the designated areas.
The public is strongly advised to adhere to these regulations in the interest of public safety, order, and the prevention of lawlessness.
Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, psc(+), has reiterated the commitment to upholding law and order, urging citizens to respect the directives issued.
Divisional Police Officers have been instructed to monitor compliance and take necessary enforcement actions against violators.
While emphasizing the importance of citizens’ rights, security agencies urge the public to avoid engaging in activities that pose security threats within the state.
The Command remains resolute in preventing criminal elements from operating unchecked with motorcycles, ensuring that the law is upheld through appropriate measures.
