Adamawa Signs MoU to Train 100,000 Civil Servants in Digital Skills, Opens Application Portal

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Wootlab Foundation and Microsoft to equip 100,000 residents and civil servants with vital digital skills.

The ceremony, held in Yola, marked a significant step in the state’s drive toward digital transformation and workforce empowerment.

Speaking at the event, Fintiri emphasized the importance of digital skills in today’s economy, describing the initiative as a major stride in enhancing the competitiveness of Adamawa residents.

“This partnership will provide our people, especially the youth and civil servants, with the tools needed to thrive in a digital world,” Fintiri said.

The event was attended by Deputy Governor Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, Speaker of the State House of Assembly Hon. Bathiya Wesley, Secretary to the State Government Barr. Awwal D. Tukur, and the Chief of Staff, among others.

Residents can now enroll for the digital skills program through http://www.digitalacad.adamawastate.gov.ng.

The training, in collaboration with Wootlab Foundation and Microsoft, will cover a range of areas, including basic digital literacy, coding, and advanced IT skills, aimed at preparing participants for global opportunities.

Fintiri reiterated his administration’s commitment to leveraging technology for socio-economic development, saying, “This program reflects our vision of creating a digitally empowered workforce to drive innovation and growth in Adamawa.”
