Bauchi Begins Work on Oil, Gas Training Academy

Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State on Friday received the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri, for the groundbreaking of the Bauchi Oil and Gas Academy at Alkaleri Local Government Area.

Speaking at the event, Mohammed said the academy was conceived following the discovery of oil in Kolmani, with the aim of preparing youths for opportunities in the energy sector.

He described the Kolmani Oil Project as a milestone for the state and the nation, and commended former President Muhammadu Buhari for his role in making the project a reality.

The governor expressed appreciation to the Federal Government and the Ministry of Petroleum Resources for their continued support.

In his remarks, Lokpobiri, who laid the foundation stone of the academy, commended Mohammed for his foresight and commitment to human capital development.

He urged residents of Bauchi to support both the state and federal governments in promoting sustainable development.

The minister also pledged the Federal Government’s continued support to ensure the success of the Kolmani Oil Field and the emergence of Bauchi as a key player in the oil and gas industry.

The Bauchi Oil and Gas Academy is expected to train young Nigerians in technical and professional skills relevant to the petroleum sector.
