Bauchi state civil servants are set to benefit from a total sum of N680 million allocated for outstanding leave grants and allowances.
The state government has disbursed this amount for distribution among its workforce, as announced by Haj Hajara Yakubu Wanka, the state commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management.
This disbursement forms part of the palliative measures introduced by the state government to mitigate the impact of the fuel subsidy removal nationwide.
During the presentation of the cheque to the head of the civil service, Adamu Yahuza, it was revealed that Governor Bala Mohammed directed the immediate payment of leave grants to civil servants.
Hajara Yakubu Wanka urged civil servants to remain patient, emphasizing the government’s dedication to addressing the populace’s challenges.
The event marked the commencement of positive developments for civil servants in the state, with the presence of labor leaders, representatives from the State Head of Service, and ministry management staff underscoring the significance of the occasion.
