Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has dismissed the caretaker Chairman of Alkaleri Local Government Area, Bala Mahmoud, and his Deputy, effective immediately.
According to a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Ibrahim Kashim, and made available to journalists on Thursday, the Governor approved the disengagement of the duo without stating any reasons.
The letter, dated July 6, 2024, instructed the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, to ensure a smooth handover of affairs to the Head of Administration.
As of the time of this report, no official statement has been released explaining the reasons behind the dismissal.
