Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has signed three Executive Orders aimed at enhancing security, environmental protection, and standardization in the state.
Speaking at the signing ceremony on Thursday, the Governor issued a stern warning to those who breach the law, stating that his administration will take strong measures against saboteurs.
The three Executive Orders are:
1. Community and environmental protection, public safety, and security, and prohibition of deforestation in Bauchi State.
2. Standardization of measurements (Mudu) in the state.
3. Removal of illegal structures and buildings in road corridors, which pose security and environmental risks.
Governor Mohammed emphasized his administration’s commitment to revamping security, building modern markets, and enhancing citizen welfare. He warned that anyone found sabotaging or violating the laws will face consequences.
The Governor appealed for continued collaboration with stakeholders, particularly traditional institutions and religious groups, to address deforestation and environmental degradation. He cautioned tree fellers and charcoal sellers against encroaching on forests and trees, stressing the need for collective effort to protect the environment.
