Bauchi Governor Stresses Collaboration Between Executive and Judiciary for Crucial Reform

Commencement Ceremony of the 2023/2024 Legal Year

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has emphasized the significance of collaboration between the executive and the judiciary to ensure the reform of the judiciary, knowing its importance to the society.

According to Lawal Muazu Bauchi, SSA New Media, Gov. Bala vowed to intensify effort by further collaborating with security agencies and stakeholders to enhance the security of the state as well as expanding its economy for the benefit of the citizenry.

Governor Bala was speaking when he attended the 2023/2024 Commencement Ceremony at the High Court Complex Bauchi on Tuesday, where he acknowledged the extraordinary performance and contribution of the Sharia Court judges, magistrates and the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), reiterating the commitment of his administration to ensuring the conjunction congestion of correctional centers across the state.

While recalling the support his administration has been providing to the sector, notably among which include the provision of vehicles to judges, renovation of the High Court Complex, Mohammed said he will ensure quick dispensation of justice, adaptation of modern technology and implementation of case management system.

Others according to Governor Bala include providing equal access to justice, timely appointment and promotion of judicial officers, fostering collaboration between stakeholders to enhance information sharing.

In their separate remarks, Bauchi State Chief Judge, Justice Rabi Talatu Umar and the Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Dr Ibrahim Danjuma commended Mohammed for his outstanding performance and tremendous support to the judiciary, in addition to enhancing his welfare to members and for sustaining the annual support as well as the renovation of the NBA secretariat.
