Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdukadir Mohammed, has called on security agencies to perform their duties with fairness and neutrality, emphasizing the importance of collaboration with traditional institutions to maintain peace and security in the state.
Speaking at an expanded meeting of the State Security Council on Monday at the Government House, Bauchi, Governor Mohammed reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to proactive security management and conflict prevention.
He stressed the need for intelligence-sharing between security agencies and community leaders, especially in forest reserves, markets, and densely populated areas, warning that unchecked minor crimes can escalate into serious threats.
The governor also urged traditional rulers to actively engage in community mediation, early warning systems, and mobilisation, while cautioning them against land-related abuses or any actions that could compromise security efforts.
The meeting brought together traditional rulers, security chiefs, and top government officials to discuss forest surveillance, seasonal population movements, protection of public spaces, and the implementation of efficient grassroots reporting systems across the state.
Governor Mohammed reiterated that fostering a strong partnership between security agencies and communities is essential for sustainable peace and effective law enforcement in Bauchi State.
