Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested former Taraba State governor, Darius Ishaku, over alleged N27 billion fraud.
Ishaku, who completed his eight-year tenure as governor in 2023, was apprehended at his Abuja residence early Friday morning.
According to sources within the EFCC, Ishaku is still in custody, facing at least 15 charges, including criminal breach of trust, misappropriation, and diversion of public funds.
The EFCC’s spokesman, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the arrest but declined further comment. This development comes amid the EFCC’s face-off with former Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello, accused of stealing N80.2 billion.
