The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared Jamilu Gwamna as its gubernatorial candidate for the 2027 governorship election in Gombe.
Abubakar Danladi, the Returning Officer for the governorship primaries, announced the result on Thursday in Gombe.
Danladi said Gwamna polled 247,161 votes to defeat his closest rivals, Prof. Ali Pantami, who secured 12,120 votes, and Sen. Saidu Alkali, who garnered 11,602 votes.
He said the exercise was conducted peacefully across the state, adding that the results reflected the choice of party members.
According to him, having satisfied the requirements of the party and scored the highest number of votes cast, Gwamna is hereby declared the winner of the APC governorship primary election and returned as the party’s flagbearer for the 2027 governorship election in the state.
Party supporters who gathered at the venue of the announcement celebrated the outcome shortly after the declaration.
