Gov. Bala Reaffirms Commitment to Making Bauchi Investor-Friendly

Gov. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transforming the state into a thriving hub for business and investment.

Mohammed gave the assurance at a community engagement interactive session held at the New Banquet Hall, Government House, Bauchi, as preparations intensify for the upcoming Bauchi Economic and Investment Summit, otherwise known as the Bauchi Roadshow.

The governor said the summit is designed to highlight the state’s economic potential, define the role of the private sector in driving growth, and facilitate Bauchi’s integration into national and global markets.

“We are committed to economic growth that goes beyond statistics. Development must translate into real improvements in the lives of our people,” he said.

He pointed out Bauchi’s unique advantages, including a population of over 10 million – with an estimated 60 to 70 per cent being youth – and the state’s vast reserves of untapped natural resources.

Mohammed said harnessing and processing these resources locally would expand the value chain, stimulate job creation, and support long-term growth.

He stressed the importance of building partnerships with both local and international investors based on fairness, respect, and mutual benefit.

To this end, the governor outlined several reforms already initiated to ease doing business in the state, including the streamlining of land registration processes, enhanced security architecture, improved transparency in governance, and a sustained anti-corruption drive.

“Our government is committed to putting in place robust legal and regulatory frameworks that guarantee investor protection and promote confidence,” he said.

Mohammed added that gains recorded over the past six years in infrastructure development, governance reforms, and social stability have laid a solid foundation for the state’s economic repositioning.

The event brought together business leaders, financiers, traditional rulers, political stakeholders, civil society organisations, and members of the public in a broad-based consultative forum ahead of the summit.
