The Executive Chairman of Kaltungo Local Government Council, Hon. Dr. Iliya Suleiman MPI (Togor Yamban Kaltungo), on Tuesday officially received the newly remodeled Kaltungo Local Government Secretariat, known as TM Shelpidi House, commending Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for strengthening local government institutions across Gombe State.

The handover ceremony, which took place in Kaltungo on August 5, attracted key stakeholders including representatives of the Joint Project Development Agency, project contractor Engr. Idris Haruna Nware, and senior government officials.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Suleiman expressed appreciation to Governor Yahaya for what he described as a bold step toward institutional strengthening and grassroots governance reform.

“This is more than just the renovation of a building; it is an investment in institutional effectiveness, staff morale, and improved service delivery to the people of Kaltungo,” he said.

The project contractor, Engr. Nware, led a tour of the remodeled secretariat, showcasing its upgraded infrastructure, redesigned office layouts, and modern facilities aimed at enhancing administrative operations. A symbolic handover of keys marked the final phase of the ceremony.

The council chairman praised the governor’s commitment to local governance, describing the remodeled structure as a vital asset that reflects the state’s broader developmental agenda.

The transformation of TM Shelpidi House is part of Governor Yahaya’s ongoing efforts to promote inclusive governance, improve infrastructure, and boost the operational capacity of local government institutions in the state.
