In celebration of World Civil Defence Day 2024, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Taraba State Command has added 50 new officers to its ranks.
The induction event, conducted at the state command headquarters on Saturday, featured Commandant Adamu Salihu encouraging officers to address the current security challenges effectively.
Commandant Salihu emphasized the significance of discipline and commitment in dealing with security issues in Taraba State, including issues like kidnapping, armed robbery, and communal conflicts.
Following a rigorous five-month training program, the newly inducted officers were reminded of their role in enhancing security by Commandant Salihu.
Representing the state governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, Barrister Gebon Kataps, the Secretary to the State Government, reiterated the government’s strong support for NSCDC initiatives.
Governor Kefas praised the NSCDC’s dedication to peacekeeping efforts and pledged ongoing assistance in combating crime.
