The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the establishment of eight new full-time undergraduate programmes for Adamawa State University (ADSU), Mubi.
The approval, effective from the 2024/2025 academic session, followed a successful resource verification exercise conducted by NUC experts.
The programmes, according to a statement issued on Tuesday by the university’s Information and Protocol Officer, Mr. D.D. Kwabe, include:
1. B.Sc. Entrepreneurship
2. B.Sc. Ed. Business Education
3. B.Sc. Agricultural Extension and Innovation
4. B.Sc. Urban and Regional Planning
5. B.Sc. Environmental Management
6. B.Sc. Agric Business
7. B.Sc. Statistics
8. B.Sc. Library and Information Science
Kwabe said the approval was secured under the leadership of the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Stephen A. Lagu.
He quoted the Acting Vice-Chancellor as saying the development was a significant milestone for the university and would create more opportunities for academic and career growth.
“This approval reflects our commitment to excellence and innovation in education. We are confident that the new programmes will address the dynamic needs of society and contribute to regional and national development,” Lagu said.
Kwabe said the university had put in place all necessary arrangements to commence the new programmes in line with the NUC’s guidelines.
Admissions into the programmes, he added, would begin with the 2024/2025 academic session.
