
Troops of the 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army, under Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have intensified security and humanitarian operations in Southern Taraba under Operation Zafin Wuta.
The operation, which began on 22 November, features military patrols, community engagement, and relief distribution across Takum and Wukari Local Government Areas.
Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, Commander of 6 Brigade, accompanied by Dr. Echuseh Audu, Executive Secretary of Taraba State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), and Takum LGA Chairman, Mr. Benjamin Bako, visited IDP camps at 93 Battalion Mammy Market, Kufai-Amadu, and Chanchanji, distributing relief materials and essential palliatives.
Brig Gen Uwa sympathised with displaced residents and reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to eliminating criminal elements and restoring peace, urging communities to provide timely intelligence.
He later led a Show of Force across Takum and Wukari, and paid a courtesy visit to the Aku Uka of Wukari, His Royal Majesty Manu Ishaku Ada Ali, who pledged full support for the operation.
Operation Zafin Wuta continues to combine security enforcement with humanitarian support, demonstrating the Army’s commitment to protecting communities and fostering peace across Taraba State.
