Police Arrest Two Suspected Kidnappers, Recover Arms in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspected kidnappers and recovered arms and ammunition in a raid on criminal hideouts in Ngurore Forest and Gborom Mountain, located in Yola South and Demsa Local Government Areas.

The operation, carried out by the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit in collaboration with local hunters, was based on credible intelligence. Upon arrival, the armed criminals opened fire on the operatives, leading to a gun duel that resulted in the arrest of two suspects identified as Ahmadu Mohammed and Halilu Mohammed.

Recovered exhibits include two AK-47 rifles, 66 rounds of live 7.62mm ammunition, a pump-action gun, a Dane gun, and various charms. Other gang members managed to escape with bullet wounds, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend them.

The Commissioner of Police commended the operatives and reassured residents of the command’s commitment to combating crime. He urged the public, particularly in Yola South and Demsa, to report any persons with suspicious injuries to the police.
