The Chairman of the National Union of Hunters, Taraba State chapter, Alhaji Dantala Adamu, popularly known as Sarkin Baka Taraba, has died.
Adamu passed away in the early hours of Thursday at the age of 63.
A family source confirmed the development to Insight Northeast in Jalingo.
He will be laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites after the Jumu’ah prayer at the Jalingo Central Mosque.
Until his death, Adamu was widely respected for his role in community security and grassroots mobilization, particularly in rural and forested areas prone to insecurity.
Sympathisers, including traditional rulers, security operatives, and community members, have continued to throng his residence in Jalingo to pay their condolences.
