Adamawa Govt Inaugurates Committees for Investment Summit, Industrial Park

The Adamawa State Government has inaugurated two high-level committees to drive preparations for the forthcoming Adamawa Trade and Investment Summit and oversee the implementation of the State Industrial Park and Free Trade Zone Project.

The move, according to the government, is part of efforts by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to reposition Adamawa as a leading investment destination and economic hub in Nigeria.

Speaking during the inauguration ceremony held at the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), the SSG, Barr. Auwal Tukur, said the initiative demonstrates the administration’s resolve to unlock Adamawa’s economic potential and create a conducive environment for sustainable investment.

“The Adamawa Investment Summit will serve as a platform to showcase our vast opportunities in agriculture, solid minerals, tourism, energy, and manufacturing to both local and international investors,” Tukur said.

He added that the complementary establishment of the Industrial Park and Free Trade Zone would provide tax incentives, regulatory ease, and improved market access that would make Adamawa a competitive business hub in the country.

According to him, the committees would work in synergy to deliver on the state’s vision of economic diversification, industrial development, and wealth creation.

The High-Level Organizing Committee for the Adamawa Trade and Investment Summit is chaired by the SSG, Barr. Auwal Tukur, with Dr. Halilu Hammawa Malabu, Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Investment Promotion Agency (ADIPA), serving as deputy chairman.

Other members include commissioners from key ministries such as Commerce and Industry, Finance, Agriculture, Mineral Resources, Tourism, and Information, as well as representatives from the Chamber of Commerce, SMEDAN, and the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC).

Similarly, the Project Implementation Committee for the Industrial Park and Free Trade Zone is chaired by the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Hon. John Ishaya Dabari, with members drawn from the Ministries of Lands, Justice, Environment, and other relevant agencies.

The committees are expected to immediately commence work to ensure the successful hosting of the Investment Summit and timely implementation of the Industrial Park and Free Trade Zone initiative.

The projects, officials said, are designed to stimulate industrialization, attract local and foreign investors, enhance infrastructure, and boost the state’s internally generated revenue.
