
Six passengers have been confirmed dead after a commercial vehicle travelling from Gembu to Onitsha crashed on the Mambilla Plateau on Wednesday.
Sources told Insight Northeast that the vehicle, belonging to A.A. Kakara Motors (also known as Kakara Park), fell off a bridge while descending the Mambilla Mountain at a location identified as Kogin Salihu.
Witnesses said the bus was conveying four men and two women, all of whom lost their lives in the accident.
Emergency responders and local authorities have recovered all the bodies from the crash site.
A community source described the incident as “a very sad development,” noting that no passenger survived.
Residents have appealed to families with relatives who travelled from Gembu to Onitsha today to urgently confirm their safety.
