Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has been conferred with a prestigious national honour by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, recognising his outstanding leadership, transformative governance, and far-reaching urban development initiatives.
The award was presented during a high-level performance assessment event organised by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation on Sunday, in partnership with Best Strategic Media, a firm known for its rigorous evaluation of governance and public-sector performance across the country.
Delivering the President’s remarks at the ceremony, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, praised Governor Mohammed for his sweeping urban renewal projects, strategic economic policies, and unwavering commitment to citizens’ welfare.
According to President Tinubu, Governor Bala’s transparent leadership style and prudent management of public resources have earned him recognition as one of Nigeria’s most exemplary state governors. He added that such honours are intended to reward merit and encourage governance models capable of driving national transformation.
In his response, Governor Mohammed expressed deep appreciation for the national honour, describing it as a powerful incentive to intensify ongoing reforms and accelerate Bauchi State’s urban modernization agenda.
He reaffirmed his dedication to sustaining people-centred policies that enhance community development, stimulate economic growth, and improve the overall quality of life for residents of Bauchi State and the North-East region.
