The Department of State Services (DSS) has announced the commencement of a nationwide recruitment exercise for medical officers across various specialised fields, with applications set to open on Monday, December 15, 2025.
A statement issued by the Service listed the available positions to include:
Medical Doctors
Dentists
Nurses
Pharmacists
Physiotherapists
Optometrists
Imaging Scientists
Clinical Psychologists
Medical Laboratory Scientists
Dieticians
According to the DSS, interested candidates are required to submit a comprehensive curriculum vitae along with a handwritten application and photocopies of relevant academic credentials. All applications must be addressed to the Director General, State Services (DGSS).
Eligibility Requirements
The Service outlined several conditions applicants must meet:
1. Applicants must be Nigerian citizens and must submit their applications at the DSS Command Headquarters in their state of origin.
2. Candidates must be between 20 and 30 years old.
3. Applicants must possess five O’level credits in one sitting, including English Language.
4. A minimum of a Second Class Lower (2:2) Bachelor’s Degree or Lower Credit HND from an accredited institution, as well as an NYSC discharge certificate, is required.
5. Female applicants must be single, while male applicants must have a minimum height of 1.60 metres.
The DSS noted that all applications are to be submitted to the Administrative Unit of the Command Headquarters in each applicant’s state of origin.
It added that additional guidelines on the conduct of the recruitment process will be communicated in due course.
The Service advised interested professionals to adhere strictly to the listed requirements.
